It is the athlete's responsibility to know all aspects of the regulation.

With his registration, the athlete accepts the general regulations of the Lanzarote International Duathlon and the conditions of participation.

Each athlete is responsible for competing in a good physical condition and with healthy training. Each athlete is directly responsible for ensuring that there is no health problem or contraindication that prevents or simply discourages from taking part in competitions.

Doping is prohibited. With their registration, each athlete accepts the doping rules, which are mandatory for the event. With their registration, each athlete declares not to violate, before or during the event, the organic law 3/2013 of protection of the athlete's health and fight against doping in sports activity.

Athletes must:

  • Be responsible for their own safety and that of other athletes.
  • Know and respect the regulations of competitions.
  • Know the routes.
  • Obey the instructions of the officers and public authorities.
  • Treat other athletes, officers, volunteers and spectators with respect and courtesy.
  • Athletes must show respect for the environment and avoid pollution.
  • Avoid using abusive language.

If an athlete decides to withdraw from the race at any time, it is the responsibility of the participant to inform at the information point located in the goal area and deliver their race number and timing chip immediately. It is essential that the organization's staff knows where the competitors are at all times.

Race officials will have the authority to disqualify any participant.

The medical staff and / or the technical director will have the maximum and final authority to eliminate a test participant if it is considered that they are physically unable to continue the race without risk of serious injury or death. Sanitary transportation by any contestant will imply being disqualified.

Individual support by friends, family, coaches and supporters will not be allowed during the Lanzarote International Duathlon test. Each participant must immediately reject any attempt to help, follow or accompany. Otherwise, it will result in a warning or even disqualification.

Basic principles of the event are equity and compliance with regulations. It is forbidden to seek advantages by breaking these rules. Athletes may not prevent or endanger others, or hinder the process of the race.

The traffic regulations will be observed and the instructions of the organizers, judges and medical personnel will be followed.


Duathlon distance sprint (drafting allowed): 5 km running race (2 laps) - 20 km cycling (1 lap) - 2.5 km running race (1 lap)

The timing chip must be used throughout the race. In case of loss, athletes must communicate this circumstance to the timekeeper upon arrival at the finish line. The athlete must pay the value of the lost chip to the timekeeper if it considers it convenient. The chip must be placed in the ankle.

There will be only one way out.

To access the competition zone, athletes must pass through an area where they will be counted or aligned. This area can only be abandoned towards the exit, and only under the instructions of the officers.

The exit will be delimited by a line marked on the ground. No athlete may step on or exceed this line until the moment the departure is given.

Athletes will be grouped in the pre-departure zone according to the assigned exit.

Athletes will be called to the starting area and will occupy the starting positions under the instructions of the officers.

When all athletes are in position, the "exit procedure" will be given.

"Duathletes to their posts!" Will be announced.

At any time after the announcement, the exit officer will sound a horn indicating the start of the race.

The exit must be forward, not being able to start the competition from a different position than the one assigned.

Irregular outputs. Athletes who deviate from the indicated protocol or anticipate departure when the rest of the athletes do so with the horn will receive a penalty to be determined by the judges of the event.

Null outputs In the event that the departure is void, athletes must return to the position assigned or chosen in principle.


The winner of the event will be the athlete who crosses the finish line of the Goal Arch in the first place.


The organization reserves the right that a participant must leave the competition to ensure their safety.


  • Provided the athlete exceeds the cut-off times.
  • Adverse weather conditions that endanger the participants.
  • In the event that the organization considers it necessary that any of the participants should abandon the test in order to guarantee their safety, we reserve the right to do so.


  • Right to participate in the event (as long as weather conditions allow).
  • Accident insurance.
  • Assistance during and at the end of the test.
  • Provisioning at the end of the test
  • Classification and timing with chip.
  • The registration is personal, non-transferable and non-refundable and implies acceptance of all the articles of this regulation, as well as the conditions of purchase.
  • In the case of adverse weather conditions or other setbacks, the organizers reserve the right to modify and even cancel the course of the test for greater safety of athletes.
  • For the withdrawal of material (bag, chip, etc ...), it is essential to present the ID or Passport. In the event that a third person withdraws their material it will be necessary to present a signed authorization along with the photocopy of the DNI.


The company responsible for timing will be designated by the organization.

The provisional results will be published on a bulletin board at the end of the test.

The official results can be consulted later on the event website.

The total time of each athlete is the one that is counted from the moment of leaving until the end of the competition.

In the event that with the available means it is not possible to determine which athlete has spent less time in finishing the competition, the judges will be in charge of deciding.

Incomplete results may be declared official at any time.

The Referee will make use of all available resources to decide the final position of each athlete. The information collected from the different technological tools will help in the final decision.


All participants declare that they are in optimal health conditions and have no knowledge of any reason why they cannot participate in the Lanzarote International Duathlon test. For this reason, athletes agree to participate under their responsibility.

Participation is suitable for athletes of any nationality, federated or not and born in 2005 and earlier. Children under 18 must provide the authorization of their parents or guardian in writing at the time of collecting the bib. No minor athlete may take the test without this authorization signed and delivered to the organization.

Under current legislation, the organization contracts a civil liability insurance policy in addition to accident insurance that will cover all participants at all distances.


A safety operation will guarantee the safety of athletes.

The organization's medical services will be authorized to withdraw any participant for medical reasons.


The organization will provide a final refreshment point in goal consisting of: liquids and solids.


The Organization reserves the right to modify the test, delay the departure or suspend it, if, in its opinion, the conditions were dangerous for the participants on the day of the test. If, by order of the authorities, force majeure or security reasons, changes must be made to the test or it is canceled, the Organizer has no obligation to indemnify the Participant for the damages that this cancellation may cause.


The purpose of collecting your data at the time of registration, is none other than to administer and manage the test information, and keep you informed of possible changes in the calendar of tests and / or promotions of products related to Lanzarote International Duathlon In this line and with a clearly sporting, promotional and commercial objective, we ask the athletes and their children for their consent, so that their image can appear in photographs and films made in the various organized activities.

To waive this assignment, you must notify Sands Beach Active SL in writing. and, in accordance with the provisions of Organic Law 15/1999, of December 13, on the Protection of Personal Data, you may rectify or cancel all or part of your data.


This regulation can be corrected, modified or improved at any time by the organization without prior notice, as well as any data, rules or sections for an optimal test performance. The fact of registering shows the participant's compliance with this regulation.


By simply registering, the participant declares the following: “I am in optimal health to participate in the Lanzarote International Duathlon. In addition, I exempt from all responsibility the Organization, sponsors or other participating institutions in the event of any accident or injury that could suffer before, during and / or after the sporting event, giving up any legal action against any of said entities.

During the development of the competition I will contribute as much as possible with the Organization, to avoid personal accidents. I also authorize the Organization to make publicity of photos, videos and any other type of audiovisual material that may appear, accepting the publication of my name in the classification of the test, in the media and / or Internet, without expect payment, compensation or compensation for this concept.
